How to use it
- Paste the destination URL. Links that already have a ? are fine.
- Choose a preset to fill common values, such as Instagram bio, newsletter or printed QR.
- Name the campaign in lowercase with hyphens (for example 2026-fall-sale) so reports stay tidy.
- Copy the link, or press Make QR to turn it into a QR code for print.
What each field means
- utm_source: where the visit came from (instagram, google, newsletter)
- utm_medium: the type of channel (cpc, social, email, qr)
- utm_campaign: the promotion (2026-fall-sale)
- utm_term: the paid keyword (optional)
- utm_content: which creative or link within the campaign (optional)
As you type, the builder shows which GA4 default channel (Organic Social, Paid Search, Email and so on) the visit will land in. If it says Unassigned, change the medium. To post one campaign everywhere, turn on Make links for every preset and paste the list into a spreadsheet.
In Google Analytics 4, open Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition and view by Session source / medium. Values are case-sensitive, so keep them lowercase.
FAQ
Should I tag internal links?
No. UTM tags on links within your own site start a new session and overwrite the real source. Only tag links that point to your site from elsewhere.
Do UTM tags affect SEO?
No, as long as you use them on external campaign links. Search engines treat them as the same page when your canonical tag is set.
Which medium should a QR code use?
Use medium=qr and a source that names where it was printed, such as flyer or poster.
Are my links saved?
Your last few links are kept in this browser only so you can copy them again.
