How to use it

  1. Enter the content: a website, a menu link, a booking page, or plain text.
  2. Pick a style: choose square, rounded or dot modules and a corner (finder) style, and set your brand colors.
  3. Add a logo (optional): upload an image and it is placed in the center. Error correction switches to High (H) automatically so the code still scans.
  4. Add a label (optional): a short line such as "Scan for the menu" tells people what they get, which noticeably raises scans.
  5. Check the scan test: every time you change the design, the code is read back the way a phone camera would, and the result shows under the preview. If it fails, raise the contrast or shrink the logo.
  6. Download: use SVG for print because it scales without blur, and PNG (up to 2400 px) for chat apps and social posts.

More than links

  • Contact card (vCard): scanning saves your name, phone and email straight to the phone's contacts.
  • Phone, SMS and email: scanning starts a call, a prefilled text or a new email. Handy for bookings.
  • Bulk: need a code per table or per product? Put one per line and download them all as a ZIP, free for up to 500.

Tips for codes that scan every time

  • Keep contrast high: dark modules on a light background. Inverted codes fail on some phone cameras.
  • Size it for the distance: at least 2 cm (0.8 in) on business cards and flyers; for posters, about one tenth of the scanning distance.
  • Keep the quiet zone: do not crop the white border around the code.
  • Shorter links scan faster: long URLs make dense codes. Remove tracking parameters you do not need.
  • Test before printing on one iPhone and one Android phone.

Codes made here never expire. Your link is encoded directly in the image with no redirect server in between, so it keeps working even if this site goes away.

FAQ

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes: the content is stored in the pattern itself, so they work forever. If the page they point to moves, make a new code.

Can I use them commercially?

Yes. Use them on menus, packaging, flyers or business cards for free, with no attribution.

Will a logo break the code?

QR codes include error correction so they can be read when partly covered. With a logo the generator uses the highest level (H, about 30%) and caps the logo size to stay within it.

Can I count scans?

Static codes cannot count scans. Add UTM tags to your link with the UTM builder and you can see QR visitors separately in Google Analytics.
